Ray Ball

Founder of Galaray House

Before co-founding Galaray House, Ray Ball spent more than fifteen years in marketing leadership roles within the technology industry, helping companies accelerate growth through demand generation, brand strategy, and customer acquisition. Long before his career in business, however, two passions consistently shaped his future: a desire to build something meaningful and a lifelong appreciation for fine art.

Today, those passions come together through Galaray House, a contemporary art gallery dedicated to helping collectors discover original artwork that creates lasting emotional connections.

A Passion for Art Collecting and Contemporary Art

Travel has always influenced Ray's perspective on art and collecting. Wherever he goes, he seeks out local galleries, artist studios, and cultural experiences. During a visit to Zanzibar, he found himself watching collectors move through an artist studio with genuine excitement, purchasing artwork that resonated deeply with them. In that moment, he realized that collecting art was about far more than acquiring an object. It was about connection, meaning, and the stories people choose to bring into their lives.

That experience helped inspire the vision for Galaray House.

Ray co-founded the gallery with a simple but ambitious goal: to create a contemporary art gallery that feels welcoming, approachable, and engaging. While many galleries can feel intimidating to new collectors, Galaray House was intentionally designed to encourage curiosity, conversation, and discovery.

Building an Approachable Gallery Experience

At Galaray House, Ray believes that contemporary art should be accessible to everyone, whether someone is purchasing their first original artwork or expanding an established collection.

The gallery experience is centered around creating genuine connections between collectors and artists. Every artist represented by the gallery is selected through a thoughtful curatorial process focused on emotional impact, artistic excellence, and authenticity. Together with Molly, Ray reviews each artist's body of work, seeking pieces that evoke a powerful response and leave a lasting impression.

His curatorial philosophy is straightforward: great art should make you feel something.

Helping New Art Collectors Buy with Confidence

One of Ray's greatest passions is working with first-time art collectors. He enjoys helping clients navigate the process of buying original artwork and discovering pieces that feel personally meaningful.

For Ray, successful collecting is not about following trends or making investment-driven decisions. It is about finding artwork that creates a lasting connection and becomes part of a collector's daily life. The most rewarding moments are often when a collector discovers a piece they did not know they were looking for but cannot imagine living without.

Those moments are what continue to inspire his work as a gallery owner, curator, and advocate for contemporary artists.

Education, Art Collecting, and Curatorial Philosophy

Ray holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of the Holy Cross and an MBA from Bentley University.

He lives north of Boston and remains deeply committed to supporting contemporary artists and helping collectors build meaningful art collections. His belief is simple: there is value in all art, from a child's first painting to a museum masterpiece, because the true worth of art lies in the emotion it evokes.

Whether working with seasoned collectors, interior designers, or first-time buyers, Ray's mission remains the same: helping people discover artwork they will love for years to come.
