Art for Interior Designers
Helping Designers Find Artwork That Completes the Space
Artwork is often the final layer that transforms a beautifully designed room into something truly memorable. At Galaray House, we partner with interior designers to source original contemporary artwork that complements a project's architecture, furnishings, color palette, and overall vision.
Located in Boston's SoWa Arts District, we work with designers locally and nationwide, providing access to a carefully curated roster of emerging and established contemporary artists. Whether you are sourcing a single statement piece or furnishing an entire residence, our team is here to make the process seamless and collaborative.
A Trusted Art Partner for Interior Designers
We understand the unique challenges designers face when sourcing artwork. Timelines shift, client preferences evolve, and every project requires a careful balance between aesthetics, scale, budget, and availability. Our role is to take the complexity out of that process and deliver options that genuinely work for the space and the client.
We assist with sourcing original artwork for residential and commercial projects, identifying statement pieces for key rooms, building cohesive collections throughout a home, selecting work that complements furnishings and finishes, facilitating custom commissions directly with represented artists, and coordinating shipping and installation logistics from start to finish.
Original Artwork for Every Design Style
Our roster spans a wide range of contemporary styles, making it straightforward to find work that supports diverse design aesthetics. Whether a project calls for bold abstract paintings, contemporary landscapes, figurative works, coastal-inspired pieces, florals, mixed media, or large-scale statement works, we can identify artwork that enhances the overall design while remaining original and artistically significant.
How We Work with Designers
Every project is different, and we adapt to wherever you are in the process.
Discovery
We begin by taking time to understand the project's aesthetic goals, spatial requirements, and budget, ensuring every recommendation is grounded in the specific needs of the space and the client.
Artwork Selection
We present carefully curated options from our roster of represented artists, aligned with the design vision and providing imagery and supporting information that makes client presentation straightforward.
Custom Commissions
For projects that call for something truly one-of-a-kind, we facilitate custom commissions directly with our represented artists. One recent example: a Winchester, Massachusetts designer brought us a client who wanted a unique family portrait. Rather than a traditional portrait, the family chose to have artist Elizabeth Lemont paint a bouquet composed of each family member's birth month flower, arranged together into a single composition. The result was a deeply personal and visually stunning piece that no art marketplace could have produced.
Delivery and Installation
Once selections are made, we coordinate delivery and installation to ensure artwork arrives safely and on schedule, working within your project timeline and logistics requirements.
Working with Design Professionals
We value long-term relationships with design professionals and are committed to being a reliable resource throughout the sourcing process. We offer personalized artwork recommendations, priority communication on active projects, access to our full roster of represented artists, assistance with scale and placement decisions, and project-based pricing discussions tailored to the scope of each engagement.
We are actively developing a formal designer partnership program and welcome conversations with design professionals who are looking for a consistent, trusted art sourcing partner. Reach out to start the conversation.
Recent Designer Placements
We have had the privilege of working with designers and their clients on a range of residential projects. A few recent examples:
Westchester County, New York
For a private residence, we placed a mixed collection including a McKenzie West mirror painting, a Hunt Slonem bunny, a custom commission by McKenzie West, and a B. Glee Lucas floral on aluminum, creating a layered and personal collection throughout the home.
Palm Beach, Florida
For a coastal residence, we sourced an Anne Harney oyster painting and a Hunt Slonem bunny, selected to complement a light-filled, coastal interior.
Winchester, Massachusetts
For a family completing a full home renovation, we coordinated an in-home visit with the designer, bringing a curated selection of works for the clients to experience in their own space. The family ultimately selected a B. Glee Lucas industrial cityscape on aluminum for the kitchen, two Sirarpi Heghinian Walzer abstract landscapes for the dining room, two Gretchen Warsen paintings for the living room, and two watercolor landscapes by the late Gracia Dayton.
